Story of the birth of a Bull named Raging Bull

It was a nice and chill evening with the rain lashing down and thenthe calm space was disturbed by thuds and more thuds. The thudssounded like "did did did did did" and bass of the thump was amazing.There was this kid (8 yrs old I guess) who heard this sound regularlyand was fascinated.

He asked his uncle, "WOW! What was that?" and his uncle promptlyreplied, "It's the sound of the BULLET, the king of the road".

For that the kid replied, "Oh! It's a bike" and tap came thereply, "No, it's not a bike kiddo it's the BULLET".

The kid saw the passion in the voice and asked his uncle, "Can I owna bullet". His uncle promptly replied, "Yes, you can but you shouldbuy one and should buy with your love not with your dad's wallet".That day gave birth to a dream, a dream of owning a BULLET.And that dream is now a reality…

Hi all, the kid is me and I am stilla kid in front of my BULLET. I just can't take my eyes of the BULL.Hi all,I am Ramanathan Srinivasan a.k.a madcatr henceforth a.k.a MadBull-Ram.I work as a Project Lead in a software company and waiting to breakfree with my fellow madbulls (Madras Bullet Club) on Long Rides.

After 100 e-mails, thousand forums, more than 20 personal interviews,I found the answer between Electra and Machismo and it was the MachoBull that won my heart. I bought my BULL, an Alberto Green dream, on September 10, 2004.

Diary - Riding a bullet 2

The next day I started the BULL and she roared to Life in one kick. I started my BULL only to see it stop immediately. Start , Stop, Start, Stop…this continued. Then I realized that the idling was low and as the BULL has woken from a Cold start the engine didn’t heat up enough to maintain the idling level.

Rule 2:
If you are starting your bull after 6-8 hour gap (Mornings are MUST), the follow this:

1. Start you BULL with the choke (What does choke do, it chokes your fuel pipe so the flow of fuel is sharper which enables the engine to fire easily)
2. Once she fires (Close the CHOKE), keep here at little higher RPM for 40 seconds (PLEASE DON’T REV. You will kill the BULL if you rev like a Yamaha 350. Pls be gentle)
3. Now lower the RPM, and hold her for 45 seconds.
4. Also, ensure that you depress the clutch lever and hold it for 10 secs (Why? After a 6 hr rest there is no lubrication. Holding your clutch and not engaging gear ensures that enough oil flows through the clutch assembly ensuring a smoother operation when you really start moving. This also increases the clutch life)
5. Now bring the BULL to rest, your BULL shouldn’t stop.
This is the best way to keep your BULL in top condition. Always do this during Cold Morning starts and also if your Bull has been idle for more than 6 hours.

Diary - Riding a bullet

After reading so many rides, I have decided to write a dairy of own experience with the BULL which will help fellow newbie’s.

It was the 16th of September I realized my 16 year old dream of getting my own BULLET. I was driving her back home (20 KMS from the showroom). The RE dealer had kept the IDLING little above the normal unit as he didn’t want the bike to stop in between. After riding the BULL for 30 mins, I felt that my right leg on the verge of becoming Leg A’la Tandoori. I stopped the bull immediately to check. I realized that I forgot to bring the IDLING to normal which has resulted in engine heat, as the engine was always at Higher RPM. I reduced the Idling to the normal level.

Rule 1:
Ensure that the idling of the BULL is optimum. The trick to do this is, ride your bull for atleats 10 mins so that the engine heats. Now put you bull in Centre Stand and slowly loosen the Idling Screw. Loosen it slowly, when you realize your bull is starting to cough, stop it. That’s the ideal point. This takes practice.
